What if death were a candle
a small insignificant light
slowly melting away
yet leading us in the night
would everyone be so afraid
if they watched how slow it burned
would we too slow down
and use the gift we earned
would we carry it with us
or stay as far away
so we dont snuff it out
and dont get in the way
would the world be more careful
or would there be more death
as i extinguish my flame
breathing my last breath
thinking what if death were a candle
would it give us security
or just fill us with fright.
